How do you ensure that the tree planting projects you undertake are truly additional and would not have been implemented otherwise?
We work closely with private sector as well as government sectors as well as NGO partners throughout the entire tree planting process including the design phase to ensure that we are creating new carbon sinks in locations that wouldn’t exist otherwise.
How do you accurately measure the carbon sequestration potential of the native tree species in Western Asia, the Middle East, and Saudi Arabia?
Our approach collects ground-level, aerial, and satellite data, considering various factors such as the species of tree, biomass measurement, the ecosystem type, and local climate conditions. Additionally, we collaborate closely with local and international authorities and academic partners in addition to open source databases to validate and improve our data collection and analysis methods.
How do you ensure that the carbon sequestered by your tree planting projects remains stored permanently?
We monitor the trees on the ground to prevent removal and allocate funding for protection from animals and human intervention. After year five, drone or satellite imagery is used to monitor the trees condition and report any mortality as well as long-term growth.
Do you offer carbon credits as part of your service?
Our focus is to understand the carbon sequestration potential of native tree species in Western Asia, the Middle East, and Saudi Arabia to develop conservation and reforestation strategies. Part of our work is to develop projects and register them in the relevent bodies such as Verra and/or Gold Standards.

Survivability is paramount for the success of our projects. At Netzero, we:

2. Engage in pre-planting activities, such as soil amendment and pH adjustment, ensuring that the planting sites are optimal.

5. Ensure a commitment to replace any trees that do not survive, maintaining a maximum survival rate.
